The Ghostbusters game was recently released for the PS4, Xbox One, Switch and Windows PC platforms.
The game is part of the action-adventure genre. It is essentially a remastered version of Ghostbusters: The Video Game, which was released for consoles of the last generation. Its aim is still the same and that is to bring you closer to the powers out there.
Just like before, you get to play alongside Egon, Ray, Peter and Winston. You also get to relive the classic Ghostbusters movies, since the design of the setting is the same as it was in those movies. The design is brought to life with enhanced textures and lighting.
The gameplay revolves around a supernatural energy pulse, that has increased the number of ghosts in the city. To deal with the increase, you have to pull out the Protons and start busting them all over the city. At the same time, you have to figure out why all of this has started to happen suddenly.
To get more out of the Protons, you must only use them for short a duration. If not, they will overheat and stop functioning. Upgrades are available for them and they let you overcome such limitations; for example, some increase the strength of the beam and others, reduce the venting times.
You use the P.K.E. meter to discover the locations where the ghosts are and the Paragoggles to see them in those locations. These tools are useful because they can detect paranormal activity, that would otherwise be undetectable. You switch to a first-person perspective when using them.
